Thanksgiving Ice Storm

Over Thanksgiving I was able to go home and visit my family for a few days, which I don’t get to often. The day before all these pictures were taken the temperature was around 60 degrees, the next day was around 24 degrees. Well it got very cold and very dangerous over the next few days making travel pretty difficult, but I was able to snap a few pictures. 2015-11-28 14.25.59frozen conniferfrozen flowerIce FieldIce treeother stufftree flower

Cottonwood River Shoot

This is from a little impromptu shoot that happened when the Cottonwood River  started to overflow after some massive amounts of rain that hit our area and caused this river to overflow and run extremely quick.

This shot was a fun one to get. The reason being is that where I was standing I could see where my old fishing spot used to be. Now it was all under water. The clouds were an amazing addition as well.

This was a great shot and a tough one to get as well.  The way the river was swirling around made it extremely tough to freeze the action and show how fast the river was actually moving. If you look directly at the trees in the background you can see the trees that hang over my normal fishing spot 15 foot under water.

Keep checking back to see more of my photos and keep track of my adventures.

Thanks!

Hello From Behind the Lens

This is my hello. Hello to everyone reading this. I am a photographer who is based out of a small Kansas town. Most of my shots are going to be a look into what most consider a pretty boring part of the world. Well that’s my mission to take what most would consider boring and mundane and show that it is vibrant and full of life. So give me a follow and let me take you into a world of the mundane made beautiful.

My backstory is one that doesn’t need to be told. It isn’t very interesting, it’s much like the place I grew up bland and boring. I grew up in an even smaller town than I’m living in now where the number of cows outnumbered the number of people.

My fascination with photography started when I was able to start seeing things differently and noticing the small things that some don’t see.  I also really enjoy just going out and being in the moment and the scene where the image is being shot.

So here’s my hello. Give me a follow to see what I have already shot.
